This is the Bay side we have all been waiting for for so long. The Deers came looking for all three points and played their usual strong physical game but Bay were equal to them in every department and got the result their battling performance deserved.
Will Graham was taken off the pitch inside an ambulance with a suspected broken leg after a very strong tackle on 40 minutes.
Two goals from Simon Brown playing at no.9 today were seperated by Luke Harvey's stunning turn-and-shot.

Kent League Division 2

Hythe Town 1
Herne Bay 2

A first half to forget with the only positive being another goal for James Turner.
After a stern half time team talk Bat came out revitalised. They had some excellent chances and it was Turner who got the winner, but Michael not James this time, after receiving a great cross from Rob Lawrence.
Danny Cook miised from the spot again but Bay ran out worthy winners

Margate 1
Herne Bay 2

Another convincing win for Bay. Joe Nelder put them 1-0 up before half time. Danny Williams got the second in the second half from a brilliant Joe Evans through ball.
Nelder and Robert Joyce then got themselves a second booking each and the inevitable red card so Bay played the last 35 minutes down to 9.
Once a keeper always a keeper. Even when you are playing up front. Shaun Smith apparently had three one on one chances, while Bay were down to 9, and blew them all. (I'm sure he see's it a bit differently).
Manager Glenn Harris described this period as "a great battling display showing fierce determination by Bay".
